LITHUANIAN CULTURE RESEARCH INSTITUTE (LCRI) is a state scientific research institution. In the beginning of 2011 it had 65 research fellows and 59 of them with doctoral degree. Institute scholars investigate Lithuanian culture, development of art and philosophy, their peculiarities and links with presence and contemporary world cultural changes. LCRI arrays Lithuanian culture and its constituent parts: fine art, music, theater, philosophy, analyzes their links with political and social state development.
Research is carried out in cooperation with other Lithuanian and foreign scientific research and studies institutions. The institute has its own publishing center where the major part of the institute’s scientific production is prepared for publication: monographs, collections of articles, continuous (“Culturology”, “Ancient Baltic Culture”, “Historical Studies of Fine Art”, “Athena”) and scientific periodicals (“Art Critics”, “Philosophy and Sociology”), scientific catalog “Lithuanian Sacred Fine Art” and other. A branch of the Wroblewski Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences is accessible to readers in the Institute.
